In addition, you must admit you are impressed with some of those finished projects, and the presentation is really something. You did not realize that the little one was so artistic. Well it really comes down to just how powerful the internet really is. As for that, 3D animation that you have dubbed as your child’s artwork is really due to high tech computer software. That does not mean that the youngster was not creative in his choices.
Java Script requires no special plug-ins, and it works transparently within an HTML page. It animates web page graphics, allows users to change page elements (background color, display preferences), and allows site navigation. Usually, Java Scripts are made up of two parts: the Java Script functions (the instructions for what the Java Script does on the page) and elements that cause the Java Script functions to execute. These two go in different ways. The Java Script functions are placed between special Java Script tags within the head tags in the HTML source. Java Scripts follow specific punctuation conventions.
Usually, Java Script functions are the last element within the head tag. The elements that cause the Java Script to execute are placed within the body tags of the HTML source, depending on where the web page designer wants the Java Script to run. Because Java Script is included in the other HTML tags in the page source, a web page with Java Script elements will be saved in exactly the same format as a web page: the file type should be an ASCII text, and the file name should have the suffix .html appended to the end of it. The script’s difference from CGI will not be clear unless we discuss both CGI and Java Scripts.
3D animation raises interest in the visual arts. In reference to 3D computer animation, the software has to be intricately learned in order to achieve the desired results. Once you have all of the variables set, upload your scripts. They must be uploaded in ASCII, not Binary, if your FTP program makes you choose. Once uploaded your scripts need to have the permissions set in order to work. The instructions should have those permissions for you. Normally a “.cgi” or “.pl” script has it’s permissions set to 755. Your FTP program should allow you to do that somewhere in the program. I use WS_FTP95 LE. To set permissions I simply right click in the right hand window when I am in the server directory where the script is. I click on “FTP Commands” then on “Site”. I then type in the field “chmod 755 name of script”. If the script is called “abc.cgi” then I will type in “chmod 755 abc.cgi”.
3D animation is an extremely interesting field, but it must be remembered it is not all fun and games. It requires a lot of hard work and dedication to become a 3D computer animator. Alternatively, for that matter any type of animator.
